Local Producer Showcase at the Strand Hotel

Food & Drink Buyers invited to a local producer showcase at the Limerick Strand Hotel

From award-winning black puddings to delicious sheep and goat’s cheese that showcases the dairy produced from the West of Ireland’s lush grass, this is an event that food buyers can’t afford to miss. There will be local beer and cider, smoked salmon that is world renowned, fresh eggs from West Limerick, locally roasted coffee and much more besides. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a fun night while getting down to the important business of finding exciting new ingredients from Clare, Limerick and Tipperary counties.

The event has been sponsored by the Local Enterprise Offices of Limerick, Clare and Tipperary. The Local Enterprise Offices provide advice, support and information to local businesses and are the perfect partners for this event that aims to bring suppliers and buyers together to celebrate local produce.

Free for buyers to attend, the night will feature canapés made with the showcased ingredients by the Limerick Strand’s head chef Tom Flavin, recent winner of ‘Best Chef in Munster’ at the Irish Restaurant Awards. So whether you’re in retail, foodservice or restaurants, you’ll want to see the local producers that the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards are getting together for this tasty networking showcase.

“We all know how exceptional Irish produce is,” said Helen Lyons, who heads up the Irish Quality Food Awards, “Ireland is world renowned for having incredible ingredients and, within the island, the western counties of Clare, Limerick and Tipperary are real foodie destinations. Here you have the bounty of both the sea and land, and passionate producers who know the importance of keeping food local to keep it fresh and at its best. This event will allow buyers to meet producers on their doorstep and find new favourite ingredients for their stores and restaurants. RSVP today to attend.”

This year’s Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards are being judged at the Limerick Institute of Technology’s purpose-built premises and the awards ceremony will take place in Dublin at Clayton Hotel in October.
